The Shivers are a British tribute band that takes you through a musical history tour of the 60's & the 70's. The 5 Edmonton/Calgary musicians (David Nigel Jones, Phillip Gilmour, Sydney Fleming, Conor O'Connor, Mick McCarthy, and Stanley Strangelove) have the look & sound that will authentically take you back to all your favorite bands and songs. "GWG: Piece by Piece" is a 60-minute musical multimedia concert (or "video ballad") depicting the experiences of immigrant women who worked in Edmonton's GWG clothing factory over its 93 year history. The plant, founded in 1911 and closed in 2004, was a microcosm of the immigration patterns in the city. Traditionally, it was a female-dominated workplace; in the post WWII period, many immigrant women worked at GWG because it did not require a strong knowledge of English. The stories of…

A GROOVE HEAVY MIX OF MEXICAN FOLK, CUBAN SON AND LATIN SOUL Locarno is the Latin project of JUNO Award winning musician, Tom Landa. Like him, the music is equal parts Mexican and Canadian.
