Train One to Coal Valley is a new play written and performed by some of Edmonton’s own exceptionally talented artists. The show was debuted earlier this year at the New Works Festival and has just come off a successful run at the 2023 Edmonton International Fringe Festival.
In a crowded engine cab, two railroaders follow the signals that propel them toward the Coal Valley Mine. Constrained by the steady sound of a locomotive and an inevitable long trip home, William and Richard pit their masculinities against each other and reckon with the marriage that unites death and discovery.
