Vocal and Performance Workshop with Tamara Beatty

In this interactive seminar and masterclass, Vocal and Performance coach Tamara Beatty educates singers, songwriters, producers, and even music management how singers can deliver the most compelling performances that reach international markets while at the same time withstanding the demands on the voice of touring and professional voice use.

As an industry voice coach, her livelihood relies on being able to keep singers and their teams in business, by producing pro level content and managing the stresses that come with the territory. When singers can’t deliver a high enough quality performance, or if they experience voice issues due to overuse, misuse, illness, or injury, tours get cancelled, studio sessions get pushed back, singers can get dropped from labels, and people lose money.

In the first portion of this workshop Tamara goes shares the importance of vocal producing, branding, and optimization. In the second portion of the workshop, Tamara will show how to maintain and withstand this level of performance. She will dispel myths and misconceptions about vocal fitness and vocal care, and unveil what you really need to know to prep for tours and the demands on the voice at the pro level. Attendees will walk away with concrete ways to optimize their performance to stand out more in an international marketplace. They will also learn key information on how to prevent and manage voice issues, and receive tips and tricks to withstand demands on tour.

Tamara Beatty is a celebrity coach on FOX’s new hit show “The Masked Singer”, a 12 season voice coach on NBC’s Emmy Award winning show, “The Voice”, and a specialist in the area of voice training and rehabilitation.

OnStage 2017: Artist Applications Open

The Arts Touring Alliance of Alberta presents OnStage, a program offering professional feedback to artists who are interested in touring dates in Alberta. OnStage 2017 sessions are held in Edmonton on Sunday, March 12, Calgary on Sunday, March 19, Grande Prairie on Saturday, March 25, and in Medicine Hat on Saturday, April 8.

OnStage gives musicians, singers, and performing groups an opportunity to meet with a panel of professional musicians and community presenters who are all familiar with Alberta Showcase. Artists present a 10-minute showcase then get 25 minutes of one-on-one feedback. The panel will react to the performance, critique promotional materials, and can also recommend future directions for artists.

The Arts Touring Alliance represents artists and presenters from across the province. Its programs promote and nurture arts touring, provide networking opportunities and access to professional development, which is made possible thanks to our funders: Alberta Foundation for the Arts and Canadian Heritage.
