Booking Opportunity: Union Duke, November 2018

Union Duke is a Toronto folk quintet with an explosive live show. Blending folk with country, bluegrass and indie rock, the group belts out harmonies with up to five voices on most songs. Always hard working, the band travels back and forth across Canada playing to fans young and old. Their enthusiasm is infectious; they leave every audience smiling. If you haven’t seen them yet, ask some of your fellow Alberta presenters how they feel about the band. Branid Wurtz of Horizon Stage says: “Their high energy performance expertly blended humour with superb musical talent. I could not sit still!

Union Duke is touring Alberta looking to fill November 1st 2018 to November 11th. If this doesn’t work for you, consider them for November of 2019.

Catalyst Theatre: Onegin 2-for-1 Deal

Catalyst Theatre launches a new programming initiative, Catalyst Presents, with the hit indie-rock musical, Onegin (on – YEG –  in), the multi-award-winning production that is taking Canada by storm! Winning an unprecedented 10 Jessie Awards (Vancouver), this thrilling new adaptation of Pushkin’s timeless poem and Tchaikovsky’s renowned opera, brings a thoroughly modern sensibility to a romantic Russian classic. This high-energy musical tells a sweeping tale of infatuation, unrequited love, and intrigue.

Onegin tells the story of Eugene Onegin, a wealthy Russian playboy who, bored with seducing women in Moscow, sees a chance for a change when he inherits a country estate. He soon becomes fast friends with his new neighbour, Vladmir, who introduces Onegin to his love, Olga. Olga’s sister, Tatyana, falls madly in love with Onegin, but instead Onegin sets his sights on Olga, rejecting Tatyana. In a jealous rage, Vladimir challenges Onegin to a duel, and what ensues changes everyone’s lives forever.

James & Jamesy Alberta Tour: High Tea

Aaron and Alastair were delighted to present High Tea at Alberta Showcase, and are looking forward to booking dates from Sept 17 – Oct 24, 2018.

The show is 75-80 minutes in duration (no intermission) and follows a single narrative that immerses the audience in a tea-themed nautical epic that blends proneness with absurdity as it mixes Titanic, Jaws, Noah’s Arc, and Water World in a comic farce that is distinctly British.
