Professional Development for the Performance Art Touring Industry

The Arts Touring Alliance of Alberta presents BackStage, a program offering professional workshops for everyone engaged in the business of presenting live performances to the public. BackStage sessions are held annually in Edmonton and Calgary at Various Locations from January 1st to April 1st!

BackStage is a day long workshop that will look at the strategies used to produce successful live performance events. One topic is focused upon each year. Whether it is marketing/promotion, sponsorship, artist contract details (etc.) – our goal is to provide the participant with realistic tools to broaden their audience and increase the impact.

BackStage gives everyone engaged in the business of presenting live performances in Alberta the opportunity to meet with fellow professionals and volunteers in a supportive and educational setting. Workshop topics vary from year to year based on feedback from participants and industry stakeholders.

The Arts Touring Alliance of Alberta represents artists and arts presenters from across the province. Its programs promote and nurture arts touring, provide networking opportunities and access to professional development, which is made possible thanks to our funders:

Government of Alberta and Government of Canada.
