Captivating as a solo artist, Jack’s flamenco and classical skills come to the fore, his sound reminiscent of Saskatchewan’s Qu’Appelle Valley, where his roots and heart lie. Groove is Jack’s second name, so when he’s with his band, passion burns up the stage. Jack’s guitar wizardry and killer vocals are jaw-dropping.
Jack first gained national attention in 1992 when he won Much Music’s “Guitar Wars.” Since that time, he’s released 11 albums, twice claimed the Western Canadian Awards “Album of the Year,” took home the JUNO Award for “Best Roots Recording,” was on the Grammy ballot for “Contemporary Blues Album of the Year,” and was nominated twice for the Gemini Award for his work as a film composer.
