An alt-country prairie troubadour, Maddie Storvold is an emerging storyteller from Edmonton. She was recently featured on and won CTV’s The Launch, giving her the opportunity to record and release a single written and produced by Bryan Adams, in conjunction with Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Label Group. The single “Don’t Say You Love Me” went to #1 on the iTunes Canadian country charts in less than three hours, and peaked at #3 across all genres. From emotive finger picking to righteous ballads, her music seeks to tell a story, to challenge us, and to touch a fragile part of the human spirit. She was described by the Edmonton Journal as possessing “seasoned wit and sweetly forlorn wisdom, just sugar-coated enough to be addictive.” Tough and sweet, funny and fresh-faced, this storyteller is quickly gaining attention across Canada as a voice to be reckoned with, harkening in a new generation of songwriting icons.
