$20Lethbridge Shakespeare Performance Society are delighted to return to the historic Empress Theatre to present ‘Macbeth’ – for one night only, on Friday July 12 at 7.30 pm.
‘Macbeth’, one of the great Shakespeare tragedies, is a dark and bloody drama of murder, guilt and revenge. Macbeth, encouraged by his ambitious wife, and by the three mysterious witches, murders the King of Scotland and seizes the throne. This foul deed entangles Macbeth in a web of treachery, deceit and more murders. Director Monique Danielle has set ‘Macbeth’ in the castles and haunted heaths of medieval Scotland; there are several energetic sword fights, and, despite the murderous activities, this performance is suitable for all ages!
