Horizon Stage Presents: Tom Jackson: Christmas 150

December 15 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

An Iconic Performer Celebrates Christmas in Canada
Actor, singer, producer, and activist Tom Jackson claims music is his first love. It was the social heartbeat of his early family life, and after being handed a guitar at age 10, he has rarely been seen without a six-stringed instrument by his side. Born to an English father and Cree mother, Tom carries the legacy of his parents’ selfless manner. He can inspire, uplift, and entertain ten or ten thousand, and the gifts he shares reflect his ancestry, his life, and his loves. Dubbed ‘minstrel with a message’ Tom’s 40+ years of songwriting has become his vehicle for social change. At the 2007 Juno Awards, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences bestowed Tom with the Humanitarian Award in recognition of his positive contributions to the social landscape of Canada. Known for spearheading The Huron Carole Benefit Concert Series for 29 years, Tom is now celebrating Canada’s 150th Anniversary with a new Christmas production.
