Young Albertan: Brianna Lizotte
Brianna Lizotte is most recognized for her old time fiddling and from performing various roles within the award winning Red Deer Royals Marching Show Band.
Having taken up the fiddle only 7 years ago, Brianna’s ability flourished under the teachings of Tammy Clark, Patti Kusturok, Daniel Gervais. She especially enjoys attending various summer fiddle camps, her favorites being Camp Calvin with Calvin Vollrath and the John Arcand Fiddle Festival.
This Young Albertan has performed in Western Canada and Europe, has received the Rising Star Award from The Alberta Men and Women of Country Music, and recently released her first CD “Scratch ‘em” featuring Brianna’s fiddling renditions of the Red River Jig, Rubber Dolly, Mason’s Apron, and two of her self-penned tunes.
Brianna Lizotte is an artist, a teacher, and community leader, and is deeply proud of her heritage – all pointing toward a promising future for this young Metis Ambassador.
